Pursuant to the mandate of Rule 10 of the Arizona Rules of Probate Procedure, all court appointed attorneys and guardians ad litem must complete this three-hour initial training course before taking on your first case. This program is not intended to be an introduction to probate practice.
The course will cover the duties of the court-appointed attorney and guardian ad litem including the following topics:

o The Hearing
o Statutory Procedures and Rules of Probate Procedure
· Guardian Ad Litem
o Purpose, Qualifications, and Appointment Procedures
o Duties, Immunity and Limitations of the Guardian Ad Litem
o Compensation and Case Law
This seminar may qualify for up to 3.0 MCLE & COJET hours
Note: If you have already taken the initial training, you do not need to take this course. The five-year renewal training is titled Probate Rule 10(E)(2) Subsequent Training for Court-Appointed Counsel, Course number J1798-400.
